Make available and invite the gay population for activities like safer sex workshops and video presentations. Provide information about STD clinics. Involve commercial establishments with gay clientele in the fight against the epidemic. METHODOLOGY: Through a survey and networking gay sites, 9 discos, 3 bars and 2 beaches where selected acording to their strategic location. A group of 10 trained outreach workers makes weekly visits to these sites in order to publicize the project, to give information and talk with the customers. RESULTS: In 5 months of work, 146 intervention actions had taken place. 75,524 educational panflets were distributed. We could observe an increasing participation in safer sex workshops, more demand for information leaflets and a growing number of gay sites interested in the project.
